Fifth Grade Field Trip

Last Tuesday Miss A loaded up her class and took them to the
Adventure Science Center in Nashville!
The kids had a BLAST!!

The class waited patiently to hear the events that Miss A had
lined up for the day...

Here is Austin using a falshlight that runs on a magnet.

They had a class on Magnets and talked all about the
differnt kinds of magnets and their strengths...
she even put one magnet down
an aluminum pipe and we watched it
fall in slow motion on a camera...
it was the wildest thing.

They had another class on states of matter.
She talked about boiling points and freezing points
and changing from solids to liquids to gasses.
She did some really cool experiments with
Liquid Nitrogen and Austin thought that
was the best part of the day...
until the sheep brain!!!

I don't have a picture...cause I didn't go in there,
but they disected a sheep brain!!!
He absolutely LOVED IT!!!!
He came out telling us all about it.
One little boy in his group didn't care
anything about doing it and the other boy got sick and left.
He was in the zone...

It was a long day but I think fun was had by all!!
We met in the parking lot at school
at 7AM and didn't get home until 7PM!
It was a loooonnngggg day!

Jackson stayed home with
Aunt Leisa and had a
great day!

Oink, Oink, Moo Moo...

I CAN'T BELIEVE JACKSON'S TURNING TWO!!!!!

The food is ready....

The house is decorated with little moo cow spots and some
BIG farm animails!!

Now, when did you say my guests would arrive??

Are those for me??

The Family and Friends have all arrived!!
LET'S PARTY!!!

Singing Happy Birthday to the big
Birthday Boy!!!

And yes, his finger did go into the cake at least twice
while we sang to him...

Yum...Miss Suzanne made me the best smash cake!!
Big cow spots and LOTS of icing!!!!

And Andrea made us the cutest birthday hat to match our birthday outfit
(that is currently covered up
to prevent all of that black icing from ruining his cute cow outfit)
He kept his hat on for all of about 5 seconds...and then it was time for more cake!!

And then there was a little parting gift
just to say "thanks" for helping
celebrate Jackson's big day!!!

Easter Recap

Jackson started his easter weekend out with an Easter Egg Hunt at Stephen and Deena's house.
All of the kids kindergarten age and younger were invited to hunt eggs on a beautiful Saturday afternoon.
The day didn't start out great, it was raining and yucky, but the sun came out and it was a beautiful afternoon!

Jackson was all over the place.  He loves being outstide and they had plenty of room for him to run!!

He was running to get eggs and then running to see where everyone else was running to!  He was a wild man.

He was all about checking out those eggs to see what kind of candy was inside.
Nana and I were checking it out too, you know, just in case there was something in there that he didn't like, or didn't need...

Here is a snap of what the Easter Bunny brought to our house.
New beach towels and outdoor fun toys.
Water Balloons and Bubbles and a little candy too.

Jackson and Austin checking out their baskets.  Jackson was not quite awake yet.  The paci was still holding on tight!!!

Time for a quick snap shot of everyone in their Sunday Best.
I have a silly look on my face because I was trying to say something to get Jackson to look at the camera...well that didn't work!!  Just a goofy looking picture of me!  Oh well,  there is always next year!

Then it was off to Mama and Papa's house for the afternoon.  The kids enjoyed playing outside and hunting eggs.  Jackson didn't care anything about hunting eggs-- he just wanted to ride the 4-wheeler!

Jackson also had fun playing with the old Ford tractor...this was Jeff's when he was little and then Scott played with it...now our boys have both played with it.  Now, that's how toys should be made!  I can't imaging half of the kids toys lasting that long...40 plus years!!!

Here are daddy and Jackson coming in to say hi!  We asked Jackson if he wanted to hunt eggs and he jumped off the 4-wheeler and picked up the egg that was next to him on the ground, handed it to me and immediately turned to Scott for him to pick him up again and all he said was
"RIDE"

funny, funny boy!!

We had a wonderful time with our family and Jackson shared some love with the Easter Bunny!!

Until next year!!!

Busy, Building, and Boo-Boo's

Well, we have been BUSY lately!!!

So much going on and so little time to blog about it!!!
We relaxed over Spring Break and then hit the ground running!

Nana has been here for the last week and a half!!
We have cleaned out closets, cleaned carpets and
gotten a little shopping in there too!!

Scott has been on travel and is going to have to leave again soon.
We miss him when he's gone, but we manage!
No cooking, less laundry...don't make the beds if we don't want too...
but we REALLY do miss him!!

Jackson has been spending every minute he can outside...
He's going to be my outside boy!!!

Jackson loves to ride in his car!
He points to it every time we head out into the garage
He simply says one word...
"Ride"

Mamma and Pappa are building a new house so we headed over this past weekend
to check out the progress.  It's going to be so nice!!!
They were suppose to start sheet rock today.
They are flat moving along!!
Yesterday after lunch, Pappa said he hoped I enjoyed my last holiday lunch at the house...
I looked at him a little funny and then he grinned and said
"Next one will be in the new house!"

We can't wait!!

Along with the longer days and warmer temps
comes bumps, bruises and lots of boo-boo's for little boys!
Tonight, Jackson got his first skinned knee.
He goes wide open all the time and being outside just cranks
it up a notch!!!

This was his first meeting with the driveway!!
When he started to fall I thought to myself,
"This is going to hurt"
and sure enough
he got up crying!

But before I could check it out he was saying
"down, DOWN!!!"

The sad look on his face above is because I took away the box of Milk Duds
that was sitting on the counter-- not from his knee hurting!!

He didn't want to miss out on any of his play time!!!
He would stop every now and then and look at me and point down
and say "Knee"  and I would tell him
"Yes, you have a boo boo on your knee"
and would slap at it like he was brushing it off and then take off running again.
Here is yet another way he is totally different from Austin...
Austin would have still been crying 4 hours later and would have insisted on going
inside immediately!!!!

He's TOUGH!!!!!

We still have a weekend worth of pictures to post of Egg Hunts, Outside time and
lots more fun, but that will have to wait until tomorrow.

Good Night!
