Vacation Departure....Take 2

Well... we should have been arriving at Nana's house right about now, but the boys had some issues today. Austin is apparently allergic to part of his new medication that his Dr. put him on last Friday. We think he is allergic to one of the fillers in the capsule not the actual medication. Jackson is either getting sick or we just had a little fight with our teeth today. He woke up running a low fever and has just not been himself today. We decided to hold off a day and try again tomorrow.

So....the car is all packed and we are going to get up in the morning and get ready to leave as planned. If the boys still need to see the Dr. we will call them and hope in the office before we hit the road!

Hopefully we will have a peaceful night sleep and be ready to hit the road!

Look out Nana... Here we come...I think...

Hanging Out With My Big Brother

Have I mentioned what a great big brother Austin is! He is always willing to play with Jackson when I need to change out laundry or get dinner ready. He never complains about Jackson, he's even pretty calm when Jackson heads for his toys.

This weekend we have just been hanging out at the house cause it is cold and raining outside. Before bed Austin sat down in the floor and played ball with Jackson. He doesn't quite have it down pat but he loves to catch the ball when Austin rolls it to him and he will attempt to roll it back.

It is going to be fun to see the things he teaches Jackson over the years. I hope he forgets to teach him the smart mouth, huffing and puffing when he doesn't get his way, and a few others, but I know the good things he will teach him will far outweigh the bad!

Public Service Announcement

Hello everyone-- this is Jackson-- He's a BOY!!! Why does every stranger come up to your child and say "Oh-- she's so cute!" This might slide if you have children that are closer in age than Austin and Jackson, but not with Mr. Correct All That Is Wrong around. Every time someone stops us to talk to Jackson, 9 out of 10 people mistake him for a girl. Austin is right there to not so politely say "He's a BOY!" They then trip over themselves to say "well he's just so cute" Yes-- I think he's cute too, but he is not wearing a bow or a dress, or pink, we even steer away from yellow. The latest installment of his mistaken identity he was wearing a blue polo with a blue jacket with dogs all over it, a paci clip that says "Little Tiger" Now, I know that sometimes I ask for it because I do dress him like a boy who has been raised in the south. He does wear smocked outfits to Church but again, they are Jon Jon's not dresses!

So, next time you stop someone in a store to admire their little one-- unless it is PAINFULLY obvious whether they are a boy or a girl-- just say what a beautiful child they have instead of mistaking them for a boy or a girl.

That is all

Hanging With My 'Peeps'

Check um' out!!! Auntie Joy and Auntie Michele found Jackson Frog Peeps!! Yes you read that right...FROGS. In case you didn't know--- if not where have you been??- we are a little obsessed with frogs!! Frog hats, frog clothes, frog toys, frog stuffed animals...the list goes on and on! But the frog "ribbits" take the cake. Joy said she didn't think they could be called 'peeps' because they do not chirp.

Hope you are all enjoyed a little bit of spring...snow last Sunday, nearly 80 here today!! There is a little spring in our step around here even with a hour less sleep. Speaking of sleep... off to get some!

Counting Down to the BIG Day!

Check out this big boy! He will be 11 months old this Thursday. I can't believe how time flies! Austin had even said it just seems like yesterday that Jackson arrived and has been a load of fun ever since!

Nancy is coming over this week and we are going to make a trial run of his birthday cake. We are having a Cupcake theme and have found a giant cupcake cake pan and are planning on using that for his cake to dive into! I have a feeling he will take one giant leap into this cake! Invitations have been ordered and supplies are being stocked up. It should be a very eventful day

What's Up?

Since we have a visiting preacher in this week and are at services every night this week at 7, Jackson and I have just been hanging out at home this week. Keeping errands to a minimum and napping as much as we can. He is being a trooper but the week is wearing on him and he is getting a little on the grumpy side.

There is Nothing Like A Little Snow in the South!

This is what we woke up to Sunday morning! Lots of SNOW! OK- you people reading this up north, I know this is not a lot of snow but let me tell you! THIS IS A LOT OF SNOW!!! But in true southern form it was gone by the time we got out of church.

Austin found one small patch in the front yard that had not melted. He made some really squishy snow balls and threw them at Jackson watching through the window and then came back inside. And that was that -- it was all gone by the afternoon. I am still holding out for a good foot and a half that keeps us in for a week!! It could happen!
